Who We Are
Because of You Chihuahua Rescue is a fairly new rescue, located in Edmond, Oklahoma. We are incorporated with the State of Oklahoma and are a 501(c)3 non-profit group. We are a small rescue and passionate about the Chihuahua breed and their well being.
"Because of You" is dedicated to finding loving "forever homes" for unwanted, unloved, and homeless Chihuahua dogs.
Because of You Chihuahua Rescue is a spay/neuter rescue and believe that there are more dogs than there are good homes to put them into. We would like more people to consider adopting existing dogs, 
rather than breeding more! And we want to encourage people to also consider the older dogs, since they are some of the most loving dogs and most in need of loving homes. These dogs have been someone's faithful companion, and for whatever the reasons, have been discarded like old garbage...
All rescued dogs live as our personal pets until a "forever home" is found. The dogs are not caged, but roam freely in our home! All veterinarian needs, including spay/neuter will be provided by "Because of You" prior to the adoption. We also do dental, shots, fecal, heartworm test and a prevention plan, grooming, nail care, microchipping and full exam.

Chihuahua's In Need
 Cocoa Rose -is a Resident Chihuahua here at BOYCR. Everyday senior Chihuahua's are dumped, abandoned...and sometimes they loose a loving home due to death or illness. They are afraid and confused. Not knowing what is going on around them. Cocoa is one of the many senior Chi's that BOYCR saves each year. Read her story and other's like her, HERE.
|  Fundraiser!! Congratulations to Camille Landry of OKC, OK on winning the raffle prize! The winning ticket was purchased at Devon Oil in downtown OKC. Thank You to everyone who participated in this Fundraiser. Thanks to your support, our fundraiser was a great success! Thanks to a very special adoptive parent, we are able to bring you this fundraiser! This beautiful earring, necklace and ring set was donated to BOYCR to be raffled off.  Just in time for Mother's Day! Our raffle will run through May 7th 2009. You can purchase a raffle ticket, one of four ways. BOYCR get's in heartworm positive Chihuahua's as often as heartworm negative Chihuahua's. Heartworms can be a deadly disease and can potentially lead to a very slow and very painful death. However, if treated the dog can lead a full, happy and pain-free life. Heartworm treatment is very expensive and great care must be taken during treatments to ensure the dog does not perish. Please help us help the Chihuahua's and make your tax-deductable donation today!

Chihuahua Fun & Education
North Shore Animal League America rescued Venus, Carmen and Pablo from backyard breeders in 2007 and the trio has been doing wonderfully ever since. They are part of the Animal League's Sponsor Program which will care and provide for them for their entire lives. It's amazing how three little Chihuahuas born without front legs have captured the hearts of countless people around the world. They're still drawing in international attention and they're still making headlines... and fortunately, they're still making progress. In fact, there is now a fourth Chihuahua in the group turning this tiny trio into a cuddly quartet.
